Boreal Omega is dedicated to the responsible development of marine products, using the abundant and sustainable fishery resources of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
At this stage of its development, Boreal Omega is focusing on the development of seal products, specifically the harp seal. Seals contain DPA, a powerful omega-3 fatty acid, in addition to the well-known EPA and DHA.
Harp seals and gray seals are rapidly growing species: the former has seen its population increase from 1.5 million in the 1970s to more than 5 million in 2023. During the same period, the gray seal population has grown from 10,000 to nearly 500,000 individuals. Overfishing of this mammal negatively affects the marine ecosystem, fish stocks, and the bulk fishing industry.
Boreal Omega brings together a unique combination of expertise, from harvesting to factory processing, to offer high-quality bulk, capsule, and syrup products, including omega-3-rich oil of unmatched purity and DPA content.
Boréal Omega thanks the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec for its crucial support.
